Prof. Dr. Arzu Babayiğit

Arzu Babayiğit is a Professor of Pediatrics and Pediatric Allergy and Immunology. In 2018, she was recognized by the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EAACI) as 'European Pediatric Allergist'. Prof. Babayiğit, has active research and clinical interest in treatments and symptom management in pediatric allergy and published more than 100 articles in peer-reviewed journals. Prof. Babayiğit, was born and grew up in Kyrenia, Cyprus where she completed the primary and secondary education. She attended 19 Mayıs Turkish Maarif College, a public English school. She won scholarship to study Medicine at Ege University, Turkey. After completing her medical degree at Ege University Faculty of Medicine in 1999, she continued her education to be a consultant in Pediatrics at Dokuz Eylul University Faculty of Medicine, Turkey.

Prof. Babayiğit became consultant Pediatrician in 2003 and further specialised in pediatric allergy at the Department of Pediatric Allergy, Chest Diseases and Immunology at Dokuz Eylul University between 2004-2010. In 2010, Prof. Babayiğit became an Associate Professor of Pediatrics and Pediatric Allergy, and between the years of 2010 and 2013, she worked in the Department of Pediatric Allergy and Immunology at Istanbul Bakırkoy Maternity and Children's Hospital and Kanuni Sultan Suleyman Training and Research Hospitals in Turkey. In 2013, she returned to her home country Cyprus as a clinical academic at the Near East University Hospital, Cyprus. She became Professor in 2015. She continues working as a Pediatric Allergy, Asthma and Immunology Specialist, Pediatric Health and Diseases Specialist at Girne Suat Günsel University Hospital and Near East University Hospital.
